BNV : একদিন শমূয়েল শৌলকে বলল, “প্রভু তোমায় ইস্রায়েলে তাঁর লোকদের রাজা হিসাবে অভিষেক করতে আমাকে পাঠিয়েছিলেন| তাই এখন প্রভুর বার্তা শোনো|
KJV : Samuel also said unto Saul, The LORD sent me to anoint thee [to be] king over his people, over Israel: now therefore hearken thou unto the voice of the words of the LORD.
YLT : And Samuel saith unto Saul, `Me did Jehovah send to anoint thee for king over His people, over Israel; and now, hearken to the voice of the words of Jehovah:
RV : And Samuel said unto Saul, The LORD sent me to anoint thee to be king over his people, over Israel: now therefore hearken thou unto the voice the words of the LORD.
RSV : And Samuel said to Saul, "The LORD sent me to anoint you king over his people Israel; now therefore hearken to the words of the LORD.

ERVEN : One day Samuel said to Saul, "The Lord sent me to anoint you king over his people Israel. Now listen to his message.

BNV : সর্বশক্তিমান প্রভু বলেছেন: ‘যখন ইস্রায়েলীয়রা মিশর থেকে বেরিয়ে আসছিল তখন অমালেকীয়রা তাদের কনানে যেতে বাধা দিয়েছিল| অমালেকীয়রা কি করেছে আমি সব দেখেছি|
KJV : Thus saith the LORD of hosts, I remember [that] which Amalek did to Israel, how he laid [wait] for him in the way, when he came up from Egypt.
YLT : `Thus said Jehovah of Hosts, I have looked after that which Amalek did to Israel, that which he laid for him in the way in his going up out of Egypt.
RV : Thus saith the LORD of hosts, I have marked that which Amalek did to Israel, how he set himself against him in the way, when he came up out of Egypt.
RSV : Thus says the LORD of hosts, `I will punish what Amalek did to Israel in opposing them on the way, when they came up out of Egypt.
ASV : Thus saith Jehovah of hosts, I have marked that which Amalek did to Israel, how he set himself against him in the way, when he came up out of Egypt.
ESV : Thus says the LORD of hosts, 'I have noted what Amalek did to Israel in opposing them on the way when they came up out of Egypt.
ERVEN : The Lord All-Powerful says: 'When the Israelites came out of Egypt, the Amalekites tried to stop them from going to Canaan. I saw what the Amalekites did.

BNV : এখন যাও, অমালেকীয়দের বিরুদ্ধে যুদ্ধ করো| ওদের তোমরা একেবারে শেষ করে দাও, ওদের সব কিছু ভেঙ্গে চুরে তছনছ করে দাও| কাউকে বাঁচতে দিও না| ছেলে মেয়ে কাউকে বাদ দেবে না| তাদের সমস্ত গরু, মেষ উটও তোমরা শেষ করে দেবে|”
KJV : Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass.
YLT : Now, go, and thou hast smitten Amalek, and devoted all that it hath, and thou hast no pity on it, and hast put to death from man unto woman, from infant unto suckling, from ox unto sheep, from camel unto ass.`
RV : Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass.
RSV : Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have; do not spare them, but kill both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass.'"

ESV : Now go and strike Amalek and devote to destruction all that they have. Do not spare them, but kill both man and woman, child and infant, ox and sheep, camel and donkey.'"
ERVEN : Now go fight against the Amalekites. You must completely destroy the Amalekites and everything that belongs to them. Don't let anything live; you must kill all the men and women and all of their children and little babies. You must kill all of their cattle and sheep and all of their camels and donkeys.'"

BNV : শৌল টলাযীমে সমস্ত সৈন্য জড়ো করলেন| পদাতিক সৈন্য 2,00,000 জন আর অন্যান্যরা 10,000 জন| এদের মধ্যে যিহূদার লোকরাও ছিল|
KJV : And Saul gathered the people together, and numbered them in Telaim, two hundred thousand footmen, and ten thousand men of Judah.

ERVEN : Saul gathered the army together at Telaim. There were 200,000 foot soldiers and 10,000 other men, including the men from Judah.

BNV : তারপর শৌল চলে গেলেন অমালেকীয়দের শহরে| উপত্যকায গিয়ে তিনি অপেক্ষা করতে লাগলেন|
KJV : And Saul came to a city of Amalek, and laid wait in the valley.
YLT : And Saul cometh in unto a city of Amalek, and layeth wait in a valley;

BNV : কেনীয়দের শৌল বলল, ‘তোমরা সবাই অমালেকীয়দের ছেড়ে দিয়ে চলে যাও| তাহলে আমি ওদের সঙ্গে তোমাদের বিনষ্ট করব না| যখন ইস্রায়েলীয়রা মিশর ছেড়ে চলে আসছিল, তোমরা ইস্রায়েলীয়দের দয়াদাক্ষিণ্য দেখিয়েছিল|” একথা শুনে কেনীয়রা অমালেকীয়দের ছেড়ে চলে গেল|
KJV : And Saul said unto the Kenites, Go, depart, get you down from among the Amalekites, lest I destroy you with them: for ye shewed kindness to all the children of Israel, when they came up out of Egypt. So the Kenites departed from among the Amalekites.
YLT : and Saul saith unto the Kenite, `Go, turn aside, go down from the midst of Amalek, lest I consume thee with it, and thou didst kindness with all the sons of Israel, in their going up out of Egypt;` and the Kenite turneth aside from the midst of Amalek.

ERVEN : He said to the Kenites, "Go away, leave the Amalekites. Then I won't destroy you with the Amalekites. You showed kindness to the Israelites when they came out of Egypt." So the Kenites left the Amalekites.

BNV : শৌল অমালেকীয়দের হারিয়ে দিলেন| তাদের তাড়িয়ে নিয়ে গেলেন সেই হবীলা থেকে শূর অবধি যেখানে মিশরের সীমানা|
KJV : And Saul smote the Amalekites from Havilah [until] thou comest to Shur, that [is] over against Egypt.
YLT : And Saul smiteth Amalek from Havilah -- thy going in to Shur, which [is] on the front of Egypt,
RV : And Saul Smote the Amalekites, from Havilah as thou goest to Shur, that is before Egypt.
RSV : And Saul defeated the Amalekites, from Havilah as far as Shur, which is east of Egypt.

ERVEN : Saul defeated the Amalekites. He fought them and chased them all the way from Havilah to Shur, at the border of Egypt.

BNV : অমালেকীয়দের রাজা ছিল অগাগ| শৌল জীবিত অবস্থায় অগাগকে বন্দী করেছিলেন এবং বাকী অমালেকীয়দের হত্যা করেছিলেন|
KJV : And he took Agag the king of the Amalekites alive, and utterly destroyed all the people with the edge of the sword.
YLT : and he catcheth Agag king of Amalek alive, and all the people he hath devoted by the mouth of the sword;
RV : And he took Agag the king of the Amalekites alive, and utterly destroyed all the people with the edge of the sword.

ERVEN : Agag was the king of the Amalekites. Saul captured Agag alive. Saul let Agag live, but he killed all the men in Agag's army.

BNV : সব কিছু ধ্বংস করতে শৌলের এবং ইস্রায়েলীয়দের মন চাইল না| সেইজন্য তারা অগাগকে মেরে ফেলে নি| তাছাড়া পুষ্ট গাভী, সেরা মেষগুলোকেও তারা জীবিত রেখেছিল| সেই সঙ্গে আর যে সব জিনিস রেখে দেবার মতো, সেগুলোও রেখে দিয়েছিল| ঐগুলো তারা নষ্ট করতে চায নি| যেগুলো রাখার য়োগ্য় নয়, সেগুলোকে তারা নষ্ট করে দিয়েছিল|
KJV : But Saul and the people spared Agag, and the best of the sheep, and of the oxen, and of the fatlings, and the lambs, and all [that was] good, and would not utterly destroy them: but every thing [that was] vile and refuse, that they destroyed utterly.
YLT : and Saul hath pity -- also the people -- on Agag, and on the best of the flock, and of the herd, and of the seconds, and on the lambs, and on all that [is] good, and have not been willing to devote them; and all the work, despised and wasted -- it they devoted.
RV : But Saul and the people spared Agag, and the best of the sheep, and of the oxen, and of the fatlings, and the lambs, and all that was good, and would not utterly destroy them: but every thing that was vile and refuse, that they destroyed utterly.

ERVEN : Saul and the Israelite soldiers felt bad about destroying everything. So they let Agag live. They also kept the fat cattle, the best sheep, and the lambs. They kept everything that was worth keeping. They didn't want to destroy those things. They destroyed only what was not worth keeping.

BNV : শমূয়েল প্রভুর কাছ থেকে একটি বার্তা পেল|
KJV : Then came the word of the LORD unto Samuel, saying,
YLT : And the word of Jehovah is unto Samuel, saying,

ERVEN : Then Samuel received a message from the Lord.

BNV : প্রভু বললেন, “শৌল আমাকে মানছে না| ওকে রাজা করেছিলাম বলে আমার অনুশোচনা হচ্ছে| সে আমার কথামত কাজ করছে না|” শমূয়েল একথা শুনে ক্রুদ্ধ হল| সারারাত ধরে কেঁদে কেঁদে সে প্রভুর কাছে প্রার্থনা করল|
KJV : It repenteth me that I have set up Saul [to be] king: for he is turned back from following me, and hath not performed my commandments. And it grieved Samuel; and he cried unto the LORD all night.
YLT : `I have repented that I caused Saul to reign for king, for he hath turned back from after Me, and My words he hath not performed;` and it is displeasing to Samuel, and he crieth unto Jehovah all the night.
RV : It repenteth me that I have set up Saul to be king: for he is turned back from following me, and hath not performed my commandments. And Samuel was wroth; and he cried unto the LORD all night.
RSV : "I repent that I have made Saul king; for he has turned back from following me, and has not performed my commandments." And Samuel was angry; and he cried to the LORD all night.
ASV : It repenteth me that I have set up Saul to be king; for he is turned back from following me, and hath not performed my commandments. And Samuel was wroth; and he cried unto Jehovah all night.
ESV : "I regret that I have made Saul king, for he has turned back from following me and has not performed my commandments." And Samuel was angry, and he cried to the LORD all night.
ERVEN : The Lord said, "Saul has stopped following me, so I am sorry that I made him king. He is not doing what I tell him." Samuel became angry and cried to the Lord all night.

BNV : পরদিন খুব ভোরে শমূয়েল শৌলের সঙ্গে দেখা করতে গেল| কিন্তু লোকরা শমূয়েলকে বলল, “শৌল যিহূদার কর্মিল শহরে চলে গেছেন| সেখানে তিনি নিজের সম্মান বাড়াতে একটা পাথরের মূর্ত্তি তৈরী করেছেন| তিনি এখন নানা জায়গায় ঘুরে বেড়াচ্ছেন| সবশেষে তিনি গিল্গলে যাবেন|”তাদের কথা শুনে শমূয়েল শৌল যেখানে ছিলেন সেখানে গেল| তখন শৌল সবে অমালেকীয়দের কাছ থেকে নেওয়া জিনিসগুলোর প্রথম অংশ প্রভুকে নিবেদন করেছিল| এগুলো সবই শৌল হোমবলি রূপে প্রভুকে উত্সর্গ করেছিল|
KJV : And when Samuel rose early to meet Saul in the morning, it was told Samuel, saying, Saul came to Carmel, and, behold, he set him up a place, and is gone about, and passed on, and gone down to Gilgal.
YLT : And Samuel riseth early to meet Saul in the morning, and it is declared to Samuel, saying, `Saul hath come in to Carmel, and lo, he is setting up to himself a monument, and goeth round, and passeth over, and goeth down to Gilgal.`
RV : And Samuel rose early to meet Saul in the morning; and it was told Samuel, saying, Saul came to Carmel, and, behold, he set him up a monument, and is gone about, and passed on, and gone down to Gilgal.

ERVEN : Samuel got up early the next morning and went to meet Saul. But the people told Samuel, "Saul went to Carmel. He went there to set up a stone monument to honor himself. Then he left there and went down to Gilgal." So Samuel went to Saul. Saul had just offered the first part of the things he took from the Amalekites as a burnt offering to the Lord.

BNV : শমূয়েল শৌলের কাছে গেল| শৌল তাকে বললেন, “প্রভু তোমার মঙ্গল করুন| আমি প্রভুর নির্দেশ পালন করেছি|”
KJV : And Samuel came to Saul: and Saul said unto him, Blessed [be] thou of the LORD: I have performed the commandment of the LORD.
YLT : And Samuel cometh in unto Saul, and Saul saith to him, `Blessed [art] thou of Jehovah; I have performed the word of Jehovah.`
RV : And Samuel came to Saul: and Saul said unto him, Blessed be thou of the LORD: I have performed the commandment of the LORD.
RSV : And Samuel came to Saul, and Saul said to him, "Blessed be you to the LORD; I have performed the commandment of the LORD."
ASV : And Samuel came to Saul; and Saul said unto him, Blessed be thou of Jehovah: I have performed the commandment of Jehovah.
ESV : And Samuel came to Saul, and Saul said to him, "Blessed be you to the LORD. I have performed the commandment of the LORD."
ERVEN : When Samuel came near to Saul, Saul greeted him and said, "The Lord bless you! I have obeyed the Lord's commands."

BNV : তখন শমূয়েল বলল, “তাহলে আমি কিসের শব্দ শুনলাম? আমি কেন মেষ আর গরুর ডাক শুনতে পেলাম?”
KJV : And Samuel said, What [meaneth] then this bleating of the sheep in mine ears, and the lowing of the oxen which I hear?
YLT : And Samuel saith, `And what [is] the noise of this flock in mine ears -- and the noise of the herd which I am hearing?`
RV : And Samuel said, What meaneth then this bleating of the sheep in mine ears, and the lowing of the oxen which I hear?
RSV : And Samuel said, "What then is this bleating of the sheep in my ears, and the lowing of the oxen which I hear?"
ASV : And Samuel said, What meaneth then this bleating of the sheep in mine ears, and the lowing of the oxen which I hear?
ESV : And Samuel said, "What then is this bleating of the sheep in my ears and the lowing of the oxen that I hear?"
ERVEN : But Samuel said, "Then what is that sound I hear? Why do I hear sheep and cattle?"

BNV : শৌল বললেন, “ওগুলো সৈন্যরা অমালেকীয়দের কাছ থেকে নিয়ে এসেছে| তারা তোমাদের প্রভু ঈশ্বরের কাছে হোমবলি হিসেবে উত্সর্গ করবার জন্য সবচেয়ে উত্কৃষ্ট মেষ আর গবাদি পশু প্রদান করেছিল| কিন্তু বাকি সবকিছুই আমরা শেষ করে দিয়েছি|”
KJV : And Saul said, They have brought them from the Amalekites: for the people spared the best of the sheep and of the oxen, to sacrifice unto the LORD thy God; and the rest we have utterly destroyed.
YLT : And Saul saith, `From Amalek they have brought them, because the people had pity on the best of the flock, and of the herd, in order to sacrifice to Jehovah thy God, and the remnant we have devoted.`
RV : And Saul said, They have brought them from the Amalekites: for the people spared the best of the sheep and of the oxen, to sacrifice unto the LORD thy God; and the rest we have utterly destroyed.
RSV : Saul said, "They have brought them from the Amalekites; for the people spared the best of the sheep and of the oxen, to sacrifice to the LORD your God; and the rest we have utterly destroyed."
ASV : And Saul said, They have brought them from the Amalekites: for the people spared the best of the sheep and of the oxen, to sacrifice unto Jehovah thy God; and the rest we have utterly destroyed.
ESV : Saul said, "They have brought them from the Amalekites, for the people spared the best of the sheep and of the oxen to sacrifice to the LORD your God, and the rest we have devoted to destruction."
ERVEN : Saul said, "The soldiers took them from the Amalekites. They saved the best sheep and cattle to burn as sacrifices to the Lord your God. But we destroyed everything else."

BNV : শমূয়েল বলল, “চুপ করো| গত রাত্রে প্রভু আমাকে যা বলেছিলেন শোনো|”শৌল বললেন, “বেশ, বলো তিনি কি বলেছিলেন|”
KJV : Then Samuel said unto Saul, Stay, and I will tell thee what the LORD hath said to me this night. And he said unto him, Say on.
YLT : And Samuel saith unto Saul, `Desist, and I declare to thee that which Jehovah hath spoken unto me to-night;` and he saith to him, `Speak.`
RV : Then Samuel said unto Saul, Stay, and I will tell thee what the LORD hath said to me this night. And he said unto him, Say on.
RSV : Then Samuel said to Saul, "Stop! I will tell you what the LORD said to me this night." And he said to him, "Say on."
ASV : Then Samuel said unto Saul, Stay, and I will tell thee what Jehovah hath said to me this night. And he said unto him, Say on.
ESV : Then Samuel said to Saul, "Stop! I will tell you what the LORD said to me this night." And he said to him, "Speak."
ERVEN : Samuel said to Saul, "Stop! Let me tell you what the Lord told me last night." Saul answered, "Tell me what he said."

BNV : শমূয়েল বলল, “অতীতে তুমি ভাবতে তুমি গুরুত্বহীন ছিলে| কিন্তু পরে তুমি হয়ে গেলে ইস্রায়েলের পরিবারগোষ্ঠীর নেতা| প্রভু ইস্রায়েলের রাজা হিসাবে তোমাকে মনোনীত করেছিলেন|
KJV : And Samuel said, When thou [wast] little in thine own sight, [wast] thou not [made] the head of the tribes of Israel, and the LORD anointed thee king over Israel?
YLT : And Samuel saith, `Art not thou, if thou [art] little in thine own eyes, head of the tribes of Israel? and Jehovah doth anoint thee for king over Israel,
RV : And Samuel said, Though thou wast little in thine own sight, wast thou not made the head of the tribes of Israel? And the LORD anointed thee king over Israel;
RSV : And Samuel said, "Though you are little in your own eyes, are you not the head of the tribes of Israel? The LORD anointed you king over Israel.
ASV : And Samuel said, Though thou wast little in thine own sight, wast thou not made the head of the tribes of Israel? And Jehovah anointed thee king over Israel;
ESV : And Samuel said, "Though you are little in your own eyes, are you not the head of the tribes of Israel? The LORD anointed you king over Israel.
ERVEN : Samuel said, "In the past you didn't think that you were important, but the Lord chose you to be the king. So you became the leader of the tribes of Israel.

BNV : প্রভু তোমাকে একটা বিশেষ কাজে পাঠিয়েছিলেন| প্রভু বললেন, ‘যাও, সমস্ত অমালেকীয়দের হত্যা কর| কারণ তারা সবাই পাপী| সবাইকে শেষ করে দাও| তারা নিঃশেষে বিনষ্ট না হওয়া পর্য়ন্ত যুদ্ধ চালিযে যাও|’
KJV : And the LORD sent thee on a journey, and said, Go and utterly destroy the sinners the Amalekites, and fight against them until they be consumed.
YLT : and Jehovah sendeth thee in the way, and saith, Go, and thou hast devoted the sinners, the Amalekite, and fought against them till they are consumed;
RV : and the LORD sent thee on a journey,, and said, Go and utterly destroy the sinners the Amalekites, and fight against them until they be consumed.
RSV : And the LORD sent you on a mission, and said, `Go, utterly destroy the sinners, the Amalekites, and fight against them until they are consumed.'

ESV : And the LORD sent you on a mission and said, 'Go, devote to destruction the sinners, the Amalekites, and fight against them until they are consumed.'
ERVEN : The Lord sent you on a special mission. He said, 'Go and destroy all of the Amalekites. They are evil people. Destroy them all! Fight them until they are completely finished'

BNV : কিন্তু তুমি প্রভুর সে কথা শোন নি| কারণ তুমি জিনিসপত্র নিজের কাছে রেখে দিতে চেয়েছিলে, তাই প্রভুর কথা অনুযায়ীকাজ করো নি| তাঁর মতে যা খারাপ, সেই কাজ তুমি করেছ!”
